There are a lot of ways that mental health can be taken care of such as medications, exercising, and meditation. The most common way to take care of one’s mental health is by taking medication. Sometimes medication works better than other solutions.
Over the last few years, I have found that exercise is also another solution to taking care of one’s mental health. It is stated that “physical activity provides various significant health benefits” (Physical). Exercising is not only good for your physical appearance but also for your mind. It has been found that “according to general results, exercise enhances mood and self-esteem while decreasing stress tendencies, a factor known to aggravate mental and physical diseases” (Physical).
Exercising doesn’t always have to mean working out, sweating, or trying to lose weight. It can mean simply going for a walk to clear your mind after having a stressful day. Another way to help improve your mental health is by meditating/yoga. It is said that “adding yoga to traditional treatment for mental health issues may be beneficial. Meditation and other forms of focused mental practice may set off a physiological reaction known as the relaxation response” (Physical). Overall, there are many ways that are beneficial in creating a positive mental health status. It just depends on which solution is better for you.
